Autism

In 2004 our son Aron then aged six was diagnosed with 'Autistic Spectrum Disorder'.

There is no accepted known cause or cure for ASD. No physical test for diagnosis. No recommended treatment other than speech therapy / over learning / behavioural training.

I decided to build these pages to as an organisational tool, to store and record information. The internet is brimming with information on Autism. Some just want to make a quick buck. But others are dedicated families who want to share their experience. Others are from doctors and physicians who are researching the condition in Universities.

Underlying Theme - Same Message

I piece together from the underlying theme, that metabolic inconsistencies are exhibited by many Autistic. In addition there seems to be much talk of similar or related treatments, which can improve the condition.

In the UK the National Health Service, provide assessment for 'Special Needs Statement', which is required for extra educational help. At present they and my doctor seem unwilling to help me obtain blood samples from Aron, so that I can pay for private tests. Their stance is - 'there is no treatment'. They advise me that the information on the internet is unproven and anecdotal.

That it may be, but that doesn't mean it is all wrong.
